Penjelasan Lengkap Degree of Comparison (Equal Comparison) Beserta Contohnya

Comparisons (perbandingan) biasanya digunakan untuk membandingkan dua benda atau orang. Kedua benda atau orang tersebut bisa sama, bisa juga berbeda. Menyatakan suatu kalimat perbandingan dalam bahasa Inggris tentu memiliki pola tersendiri. 

EQUAL OR POSITIVE COMPARISON

Equal or Positive Comparison dugunakan untuk membandingkan dua benda atau orang yang memiliki sifat atau ciri yang sama. Pola perbandingan yang sama sebagai berikut.

Pola 1

subject + verb + as + adjective/adverb + as + noun/pronoun

contoh:

• Satria is as tall as Dido.

(Satria setinggi Dido)

• My book is as interesting as her book.

(Bukuku semenarik bukunya)

• My girlfriend is as pretty as yours.

(Pacarku secantik pacarmu)

• My motorcycle is as fast as his motorcycle.

(Sepeda motorku secepat sepeda motornya)

• Math is not easy as Biology

(Matematika tidak semudah Biologi)

Pola 2

... like or alike ...

contoh:

• My doll is like yours.

(Bonekaku sama seperti punyamu)

• Your laptop is like mine.

(Laptopmu sama seperti milikku)

• His house style is like hers.

(Gaya rumahnya sama seperti miliknya)

• My brother and your brother is alike.

(Saudaraku and saudaramu sama)

• My phone and his is alike.

(Teleponku dan miliknya sama)

Pola 3

... the same, or ... the same as ...

contoh:

• The fan and yours are the same.

(Kipas itu dan milikmu sama)

• This bird is as the same as that one.

(Burung ini sama dengan yang itu)

• My pencil case and my brother's are the same.

(Kotak pensilku dan punya saudaraku sama)

• This bag is the same as yours.

(Tas ini sama dengan milikmu)

• That clock is the same as mine.

(Jam itu sama dengan milikku)

 

Pola 4

subject + verb + the same + noun + as + noun/pronoun

contoh:

• My body is as tall as your body.

(Badanku setinggi badanmu)

• Her hair is as long as mine.

(Rambutmu sepanjang rambutku)

• She uses the same bag as I.

(Dia memakai tas yang sama seperti aku)

• I wear the same uniform as him.

(Aku memakai seragam yang sama sepertinya)

• She wears the same spectacles as me.

(Dia memakai kacamata yang sama sepertiku)

contoh:

• My painting is similar to that one.

(Lukisanku sama dengan yang itu)

• My book and your book are similar.

(Bukuku dan bukumu sama)

• My trousers and yours are similar.

(Celana panjangku dan milikmu sama)

• That plant is similar to this one.

(tanaman itu sama dengan yang ini)

• This printer and hers are similar.

... different from ...

contoh:

• My cloth is different from your cloth.

(Pakaianku berbeda dari pakaianmu)

• This book is different from mine.

(Buku ini berbeda dengan milikku)

• That laptop is different from hers.

(laptop itu berbeda dengan miliknya)

• My house and your house are different.

(Rumahku dan rumahmu berbeda)

• My phone and yours are different.
